559 Is scalp microbiota different between dry and oily dandruff states?

Scalp microbiota is characterized by the presence of Malassezia, Cutibacterium and Staphylococcus genus. Oily dandruff (OD) associated to known modifications in scalp microbiota’s composition. What about with dry (DD)? To date, literature doesn’t answer this question. The aim study was compare OD scalps’ vs DD microbiota, based on metagenomic data. Method: Two open studies 16 subjects 17 mild moderate scaly state at baseline were done. Genomic DNA extraction NGS sequencing from Swab sampling 2 groups performed. After microorganisms’ identification or absolute quantification specific strains, different statistical analysis run according nature Results: states both volunteer validated using clinical observations. Differential two showed following significant differences: (i) Mycobiota unknown species Malasseziales order while Filobasidium genus are more present scalps, (ii) dominate bacteria populations. (iii) under-represented communities between states. Pelomonas, Capnocytophaga Ralstonia scalps Brachybacterium preferentially observed scalps.
